The new PlayStation 5 is here. Sony made the big reveal last June 11, revealing the look and the specs of the console, as well as games that will be part of the release and first few months of the console. Now, the question is, how can on reserve a slot for the console through a pre-order?

Sony is yet to reveal the official price for its next-generation game console. Some of them are now accepting pre-registration for pre-orders!

One of the retailers that have a landing page ready for the PS5 pre-order is Target. You can go on the page from time to and see if there is something new there. GameStop also has a pre-order page ready, though customers can only sign up for notifications for now. Lastly, Walmart has also made its PS5 pre-order page live, complete with all the specs and details that have been revealed so far, as well as all the games that were revealed in the Sony event, too.

How much is the PS5?

During the reveal event of Sony, one vital information that was not revealed was the price of the console, causing speculations and concern among fans and gamers alike.

However, Sony clarified that fans should be thinking not of the price of the PS5, but the value it will bring once it is here. No matter if it will go on sale for a low price of $400, or a premium price of $700 above, it is the value that is important.

“We must be more attentive than ever before to ensure that the overall value proposition in terms of the console and the games,” said Sony PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan, in an interview with BBC. “The range of games, the quality of games, the quantity of games makes this something that our community aspires towards.”

What we know about the PS5

So far, Sony had been generous enough to share at least the specs and the hardware design of the next generation of the flagship console series.

We know that the PS5 would be coming with a custom 825GB SSD with an expandable NVMe SSD storage slot. Since SSDs are far faster and more durable than the traditional hard disk drives, the PS5 is boasting faster game installations and ultra-fast loadings times, too.

One of the features that excite a lot of gamers is that it will have full backward compatibility for PlayStation 4 games. However, Sony is yet to release which PS4 games would be playable on the new PS5. As it turned out, some games would not be compatible with the new console.

As for games, Sony also has revealed several games that fans can look forward to. There were games from popular franchises such as the new “NBA 2K21,” an improved and expanded version of Rockstar Games’s “Grandt Theft Auto V,” as well as a PS5 edition of “Grand Theft Online.” Other games revealed include “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales” and “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” from Insomniac Games, “HITMAN 3” from IO Interactive, “Resident Evil 8: Village” from Capcom, and “Horizon Forbidden Wes” Guerrilla Games, among others.

The PS5 will be released Holiday 2020.
