Colby Cave of the Bakersfield Condors in the AHL turned in what might end up the AHL Knockoff of the Year in a fight against Martin Pospisil of the Stockton Heat and was so concerned by the knockout that he texted Pospisil after the game to make sure he was OK.
“Hey buddy it’s Cave from the other side, just wanted to reach out and hope you’re ok buddy. That seeing that. You’re a tough kid and I respect a guy that stands up for himself. Hope you have a quick recovery buddy,” Cave texted. Pospisil confirmed he’s OK and added, “good fight.”
Pospisil, 19, was making just his sixth start in the AHL after being drafted in the 4th round by Calgary out of the USHL where he racked up 371 PIM over two seasons. The kid clearly likes to drop the gloves and see what happens. This time Cave, 24, who just had one fight in 2018, dropped a veteran hammer on the kid.

Colby Cave makes sure his opponent is ok after knocking him out. As for this Pospisil guy, he’s 19 and seems to be fine with getting knocked out. A real throwback type of guy:
