I jokingly threw out a hypothetical this week that Urban Meyer could one day become the head coach at Michigan after the school tells Jim Harbaugh to take a hike. Well, things escalated quickly and Urban Meyer was asked today if he would take the Michigan job when it comes open.
“No, that’s not going to happen,” He said on the Bobby Carpenter & Anthony Rothman on 97.1 FM in Columbus. “That’s not going to happen,” he reiterated.
What about that USC job that’s going to open up? Urban says he loves what he’s doing, his family loves what he’s doing and that’s that on the subject.
Here’s the full interview with Meyer:

I didn’t think this would go anywhere, but then again it’s the middle of the week and the media loves something like this:
Then Michigan throws $10M/year at Urban Meyer & he can’t resist that pile of cash.

Odds came out this week for the next Michigan coach and Urban Meyer was right there with some decent odds. Guess you can throw away those tickets:

Urban Meyer tells @971CandR “we’re very happy” in retirement
"Three months ago, I had a problem. What if I’m sitting her in October and I can’t stand what I’m doing? But I love what I’m doing. My family loves what I’m doing and those are really the only people who matter to me.”

Meyer also bluntly shot down any chance of him taking the head coaching job at Michigan.
“No, that’s not going to happen. That’s… That’s not going to happen."
