The report out of Lakewood, Colorado is that this is parents fighting at a 7-year-olds baseball game over the call of a 13-year-old umpire and it all happened before noon on Saturday. Imagine that…parents brawling on a beautiful Saturday morning in Colorado where they could’ve eaten a gummy and sat back to relax at a kids’ baseball game, but no, they had to knock each other out and now face the criticism of Facebook brigades and even some are facing charges for the fight.
“These coaches and parents, unhappy with a baseball game involving 7-year-olds and a 13-year-old umpire, took over the field and began assaulting each other,” a Facebook post from the department reads.
The fight was reported just before noon on Saturday. The Lakewood Police Department said the baseball game involved teams from Bear Creek and Denver, and that parents were upset by a call made by the young umpire.
“These parents and coaches decided to take it out on each other,” said John Romero, a public information officer for the Lakewood Police Department. “It’s horrible.”
Four people were cited for disorderly conduct and fighting in public, and more citations could be issued, police said.

Look at where this was located. Not far from the paradise of the Rocky Mountains in June. I could see people in nowhere Alabama or Florida fighting at a game because they’re degens, but this is Colorado. How is there an ounce of anger in your system? I could see fighting at an Avs game where emotions boil over, but this is a baseball game where the boys can barely catch the ball. I could see punching someone at a Broncos game. Not at the ballpark.
