What a moment it was for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers was about to get the ball back at the 25 with 2:05 to play and a timeout in his pocket. So at 2:05 he would’ve made a throw over the middle knowing he still gets the two-minute timeout. That’s plenty of time to get Mason Crosby to the 10 yard line or so for a chip shot and a win. Instead, Ty Montgomery went into hero mode and brought the ball out of the endzone and fumbled.
Yep, people were pissed and took it out on the guy via social. Let’s just say people are probably burning their Ty Montgomery jerseys. Head coach Mike McCarthy said after the game that there was definitely a plan and it was to let Rodgers go to work with all that time on the clock.
Instead, Ty is getting absolutely roasted for how that one ended against the Rams. I’ll give Ty credit, he hasn’t locked down his IG. It’s very, very ugly over there. A loss there leaves the Packers at 3-3-1 and with a 33% probability of making the playoffs. Now they go to New England. Oops.
Here’s the reaction to Ty Montgomery fumbling over on Instagram under a photo of Ty’s baby:

I feel bad for Ty Montgomery. There are some crappy people on Twitter. All these people should be suspended. Keep your head up brother pic.twitter.com/FJhWsHrldV

Here’s Mike McCarthy after the game talking about what the plan was on the kickoff:
