Whitney Ward, who now goes by Whitney Dillon because she’s married to our old friend NASCAR driver Austin Dillon, has had herself a big week. I think it was Wednesday when she slid into the DMs to let me know that her and the Busch sister-in-laws are going to get a reality show on CMT in early 2019. Then the week went on and it was time to celebrate her 29th birthday and bust out one of the most insane red, white and black (leather?) suits ever seen on the grid at Bristol.
That’s a big week that NASCAR should be documenting on the front of NASCAR.com. Did you happen to see the empty seats at Bristol last night? Not good. I’ve tried to tell NASCAR for like 3-4 years now that they better figure out a way to create some drama in this sport because the fans have lost touch with the guys riding around in multi-million dollar RVs.
That’s why I’ve said that Whitney and Austin would be a huge focus. I’ve gone over this multiple times from Austin laying a patch in his barn, to the pool slide he bought with track winnings, to Whitney absolutely destroying the prerace ceremonies. Screw talking to some of these drivers who won’t give a quote. There should be a NBC/Fox mic in front of Austin and Whitney every single week. Get both of them on TV, especially now that she has her husband styling with new hair, new clothes and a big IG lifestyle.
The Racing Wives show is a step in the right direction. Now we just have to get like 25 other drivers to not be so robotic.
BTW, Austin finished 13th last night and now gets a week off from the track. I assume these two are headed off on a tropical birthday vacation.
