We’re only one week into NFL training camp and already there appears to be some drama between Broncos punter Marquette King and members of Denver sports media. King, of course, is a fan favorite and one of the more affable players in the league, but all you have to do is go on his Twitter to see shit is going down between him and 104.3 The Fan’s Darren Mckee.
King colorfully used the eggplant and open mouth emoji in a direct tweet to Mckee on Saturday:

That prompted a response from Mckee in which he went off on King for tanking an interview with Brandon Stokely and Zach Bye:
To be interviewed then simply don’t do it. If you DO decide to do an interview have a clue who you are talking to. Why don’t you ask DT about Stokely as you apparently have no idea who anybody is. Best of luck punting the ball in Denver. Somehow our show will survive without you

The “controversial” interview took place Friday after day six of training camp. Stokely and Bye had King on to chat, and he pretty much shut down all of their questions in an awkward sub-two minute appearance.
Now that six days of training camp are in your backet pocket, how would summarize it for yourself personally?
King: I don’t know. I don’t know how to summarize it.
Good?
King: It’s like a regular practice day.
How’s the transition been with a new team, new locker room, moving from Oakland to Denver? How has that transition been for you?
King: I don’t know. It’s cool. Got some cool people on the team.
How is your relationship so far with the coaching staff? You getting along well?
King: Yup. Everything’s going good.
You always got a lot of personality, but it doesn’t seem like you have a lot to say right now. You frustrated about something in particular?
King: I just don’t like talking about football, really. I just do it.
Well, tell us about yourself. Who is Marquette King? What do you like to do? What do you enjoy?
King: I know I like more oxygen.
Is the altitude bothering you a little bit? I know it takes some time to get adjusted
King: It get on my nerves sometimes, but, I mean, it’s my job. So… yeah.
How much are you looking forward to games starting a week from tomorrow?
King: Ummm… I don’t know. I mean it’s definitely coming. So…
There was a third act to this King drama Sunday with Broncos public relations being forced to keep the punter away from Mckee:
My buddy just sent me this pic of Broncos PR trying their best to keep Marquette King away from @dmac1043. Shame. pic.twitter.com/U2JqI2pkIo

According to McKee, King threateningly told him to not to say his name before Broncos PR stepped in to defuse the situation:

Mckee also took a blatant shot at King for not signing autographs for fans, but was backed by teammate Shelby Harris:
What are you trying to prove leave Marquette alone he’s a perfectly fine teammate and y’all need to get off his back @MarquetteKing
