Normally MLB trade deadline stuff isn’t our jam, but I couldn’t help myself this afternoon with the Astros trading self puncher Ken Giles to the Blue Jays for (alleged) woman puncher Roberto Osuna. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal has the details on this knockout of a trade:

Which also includes a PED offender going to the Jays!
RHP David Paulino, heading from #Astros to #BlueJays in Osuna trade, was suspended 80 games last season after testing positive for a PED. Prior to that, he was HOU’s No. 3 prospect and No. 44 overall, per @MLBPipeline. Dropped to No. 23 on HOU’s list this season.

The story here, of course, is Osuna. He’s by far the best player involved in the trade, is only 23, and is under team control until 2021. The downside with him is he comes attached with all the bad PR, as he was arrested in May for allegedly assaulting a woman. He was hit with a 75-game suspension without pay for for violating MLB’s domestic violence policy, but is playoff eligible.
Astros GM Jeff Luhnow dropped this gem of a statement:

Basically the Astros are gunning for another World Series win no matter the cost. (There’s nothing wrong with that.)
Bob Nightengale tweeted the Jays have been trying to move Osuna over the past month before getting the Astros to bite the bullet:
The #BlueJays have now been shopping closer Roberto Osuna for weeks to no avail, with clubs adamantly shying away from him knowing the severity of his 78-game domestic violence penalty, and the fear of the unknown

As for Giles, he’s another piece of work who was demoted to Triple A earlier this month after dropping an F-bomb on manager AJ Hinch. He also has an ERA near 5, which makes his act a tough one to tolerate.
#Astros manager AJ Hinch pulled Ken Giles after he allowed three hits without recording an out.
Giles told Hinch "F— you man" as he walked off the mound.
Wonder if the @Astros will discipline him for the clear act of disrespect towards Hinch.

Great news for the Yankees… their punching bag is now playing within the division:
