It’s a tough week for Toronto sports. Obviously the city is in mourning after their Raptors got swept away by Team LeBron, and now there’s bad news on the baseball front with Blue Jays closer getting arrested Tuesday morning for assault.
Details from The Athletic:
The Toronto Police Service is withholding details to protect the identity of the alleged victim, said Constable Jenifferjit Sidhu.
Osuna, 23, has been released and is scheduled to appear in Old City Hall Court on June 18.
Constable Sidhu said police would not release the location or nature of the incident, “not because he’s a baseball player,” but because in all cases of this type, such details might lead to the identity of the woman, which is protected.
While Toronto police is keeping the identity of the victim private, TMZ reports the woman is in a relationship with Osuna.
The Blue Jays announced in a statement that Osuna has been placed on administrative leave:
