Orioles Fan Successfully Calls Off Steve Pearce, Causes Him To Drop A Routine Pop-Up

How many times have you gone to a baseball game and yelled some form of “I GOT IT” to try and throw off a player standing under an easy pop-up? It happens at pretty much every single game for an opposing team and almost never actually works. These are professionals, they can normally tell the difference between a drunk fan in the first row as opposed to one of their teammate.
But last night, Steve Pearce got duped. I think the problem here is that there were about 74 people in the building last night at Camden Yards. It was so quiet in there that anybody yelling that was relatively close to the field could sound like they were actually on the field. Then you mix in this pop-up in foul territory near the seats and it was the perfect recipe for O’s fan to leave his mark on the game.
Listen closely here and you can hear him yell, “Mine!”

I think this is the first time I’ve seen this actually work. It’s a win for the fans in my book. Like I’ve said, opposing fans have been doing this for years and years and years without any success. To see it actually work makes me laugh.
