Legal sports gambling in Delaware is officially a go, so if you’re one of those people who think you’re going to make bank beating the oddsmakers, go out there and prove it. Delaware governor John Carney got the ball rolling at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino with a homer bet, placing a weak $10 wager on the Phillies moneyline.

Handicapper Stu Feiner followed the governor, and was a tad bit more aggressive placing four $500 bets on baseball games. The USA Today’s AJ Perez says Stu’s masterplan is to be up $5,000 by the end of the day.
That’s Stu Feiner, a sports gambling advisor who traveled from Long Island to place the first bet after the governor. He made four $500 bets on MLB games tonight: Pirates, Padres, Orioles and Reds. He told me he plans to bet $5k by day’s end. pic.twitter.com/8kZMScCc5R

Details on The First State’s big day from Delaware Online:
Today is the first time that state-sanctioned, single-game sports bets will occur in the United States, outside of Nevada. The action will happen in Delaware’s three casinos — Delaware Park, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino and Harrington Raceway & Casino.

New betting rules in Delaware allow wagers on individual matches in professional baseball, football, hockey, basketball, soccer, golf, and auto racing, giving gamblers an alternative to NFL parlay cards.
ESPN’s Darren Rovell was on the ground to take pictures of the first few wagers:

This guy, @boygotswag, was the third person to place a bet in the state of Delaware. He put $20 on the Cavs to lead at the half tomorrow (pick em) & $20 on the Nationals to win by at least 2 runs tonight. pic.twitter.com/sG28VPkdke

… And get in on the action himself with a $6.90 Browns Super Bowl bet:
Had to put down one bet. The ticket writer laughed no less than three times, including when he said, “Good Luck.” Covering up the bottom so you all can’t collect when it happens. pic.twitter.com/y4JNC6mWi3
