What do you need to know about the NBA Draft Lottery? Well, the sinking ship known as ESPN provided a sequel to TBS’s disastrous NCAA Tournament bracket reveal by dragging out the selections for a full hour. Awkward interviews, too much Paul Pierce, too much Cassidy Hubbarth, too much Mark Jones — pretty much the torture you come to expect from the Worldwide Leader these days.
As far as the lotto results are concerned, the main takeaways are the Suns are picking No. 1 overall (yawn) and that everyone who isn’t Atlanta homer Intern Danny was shocked to learn actress Jami Gertz owns the Hawks. She certainly got Twitter buzzing for a minute:
I'm not now or nor would I ever be unhappy to see her on my tv. But why is Jami Gertz at the #NBADraftLottery? pic.twitter.com/69GpsV4QWp

Gertz, who you probably remember from Twister and The Lost Boys, represented the Hawks tonight and was a good luck charm as the Hawks moved up one spot to the No. 3 pick.

Gertz’s husband Antony Ressler said earlier this week that she’s been responsible for his luck throughout the years… that certainly rang true tonight. The Hawks are now a lock to land a blue chipper to build their team around whether that be Luka Doncic, Marvin Bagley, or Jaren Jackson.
Gertz showing off her lucky red ribbon that wards off the evil mojo:
