I’m not an expert on mushrooms, but I know enough about them to know Melvin Williams needs to lay off the mushrooms, especially the ones he consumed Wednesday that sent him into a rage that resulted in him streaking a middle school lacrosse game and destroying some paintings and antiques. And keep in mind that this went down in the very nice neighborhood of Upper Arlington where those people aren’t used to 20 year olds doing shrooms and going nuts.
From WSYX:
Upper Arlington police arrested 20-year-old Melvin Williams at Hastings Middle School Wednesday evening during the game.
Several people called 911, saying there was a man who was bloody, had stripped down to his boxers and had hopped the fence to run onto the field. Prosecutors said Williams broke into a home across the street and damaged four paintings and antiques worth up to $27,000 before interrupting the lacrosse game.
Dashcam video of the arrest shows Williams struggling with officers. Williams faced a judge Friday on charges of assault and inducing panic. His attorney said that “bad mushrooms” were to blame for the incident.
“He got ahold of some bad mushrooms. He doesn’t remember a single thing that’s happened,” attorney Bob Krapenc told the judge.
