We are a ways away from baseball’s trade deadline season, but that didn’t stop the Rockies and Nationals from making a blockbuster deal during Sunday’s series finale. Now to be clear, the Rockies and Nationals front offices didn’t execute anything — fans of the respective organizations did.
As you can see below, a Nationals fan made the most of out Shawn Kelley serving up a bomb by making a proposition to a Rockies fan: the DJ LeMahieu ball he caught for his Matt Wieters home run ball. It just made too much sense for it to not happen.

This should be another argument to the “throw opposing HR balls back” crowd. Kid could have thrown it back in rage after watching his Nats blow another game, instead he gets a souvenir he actually wants and goes viral for a cute moment.
