Benches clear at Fenway after Yankees' Tyler Austin slides hard into 2nd base. pic.twitter.com/Z1m1631n1j

It was in the third inning last night after a hard slide into second by Tyler Austin that really heated things back up between the Yankees and Red Sox, which is something we haven’t seen since Pedro was tossing Don Zimmer by his fat head. The benches cleared, words were exchanged, the tension was bubbling.
Fast forward to the 7th inning and we get this. A nice beanball courtesy of Joe Kelly in the direction of Tyler Austin as a reaction to said slide in the 3rd, causing all hell to break loose. You get a mound charge, punches thrown this time, benches cleared again. Just a good old-fashioned Yankees-Red Sox brawl.

The rivalry is BACK ON. This wasn’t your normal pussy foot fight that we’ve become accustomed to in recent years. You had real punches getting tossed around and Joe Kelly, maybe my new favorite baseball player, going full Nolan Ryan here.

It’s glorious to see. And we’re only in the 2nd week of April. Keep this up (remember this was the second basebrawl of the day), along with the billion home runs being hit because of the *wink wink* totally not juiced baseballs, and we might be staring down a baseball resurgence. This is what the fans want.
Aaron Judge deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for not snapping Joe Kelly’s head off like a dandelion. #Yankees pic.twitter.com/mchTe72KbD
