Basebrawl Breaks Out After Luis Perdomo Throws Behind Nolan Arenado

Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado did more fighting today than NBA players have done all season.
The Rockies third baseman went absolutely berserk after Padres starter Luis Perdomo threw a fastball behind him during the bottom of the third inning. It’s safe to assume the pitch was retaliatory in nature as Padres outfielder Manuel Margot took a 95 mph heater to the ribs on Tuesday. As you can see below, Arenado wasn’t having it and charged the mound to throw some haymakers — none of which landed so Rockies fans can breathe easy:

This second video shows the message pitch would have hit Arenado between the numbers if he didn’t dodge it:

Outfielder Gerardo Parra was able to connect on a soft punch to AJ Ellis. Nothing vicious in nature, but it’s something to show for all this drama:

Arenado, Parra, and German Marquez were all ejected for their roles in this little brouhaha, but that didn’t stop the Rockies from dropping a five spot in that inning.
