Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado did more fighting today than NBA players have done all season.
The Rockies third baseman went absolutely berserk after Padres starter Luis Perdomo threw a fastball behind him during the bottom of the third inning. It’s safe to assume the pitch was retaliatory in nature as Padres outfielder Manuel Margot took a 95 mph heater to the ribs on Tuesday. As you can see below, Arenado wasn’t having it and charged the mound to throw some haymakers — none of which landed so Rockies fans can breathe easy:

Outfielder Gerardo Parra was able to connect on a soft punch to AJ Ellis. Nothing vicious in nature, but it’s something to show for all this drama:

Arenado, Parra, and German Marquez were all ejected for their roles in this little brouhaha, but that didn’t stop the Rockies from dropping a five spot in that inning.
