Gronk’s interesting off-season continued yesterday when a thoroughbred racehorse that’s named after him took home the W in a race in England to qualify for the Kentucky Derby. That’s right, a horse named ‘Gronkowski’ will be in the field at the 2018 Kentucky Derby. What a world.

The Patriots have frequented the Derby many times over the years, including Brady who’s always there dressed to the tens. You might remember a few years back when Gronk made an appearance with his teammates. This was back in the prime Gronk days, so he made a mockery of the whole attire situation.
You might remember this incredible tie-over-the-t-shirt outfit he was working.

Now that this horse is officially in the field, I think it’s time we get Gronk back to Churchill Downs this May.
Here’s how the horse got named, via Racing Post:
Kerri Radcliffe, Phoenix Thoroughbred’s racing manager and bloodstock agent for the northern hemisphere, said: “I love the New England Patriots and as Rob Gronkowski is six-five and about the same wide I thought it would be an appropriate name for the horse as he’s built much the same.”
Don’t forget about the plaid coat…that needs to make another appearance this year
