We all know that Bill Belichick is merciless when it comes to cutting players, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens to safety Duron Harmon, a former third-round pick who just signed an extension with the Patriots, after getting arrested Friday afternoon for trying to smuggle 58 grams of weed into Costa Rica. Does Bill cut him this morning or wait til training camp to give him a false sense of security?
Seriously, you have a be a real idiot to try and pull something like this off. Does he realize it’s not very hard to get weed in Central America? Just walk outside.
WEEI has the details of the arrest:
According to a Costa Rican newspaper, Duron Harmon was arrested for trying to enter Costa Rica with marijuana on Friday.
During a routine check at the airport, officers found 58 grams of marijuana inside a can of iced tea, three pipes with cannabis oil, a THC candy and four glass containers with compressed marijuana that weighed 4.3 grams.
Another paper added he was detained and then sent back to the United States.
So he had 58 grams in a drink can, oil, candy, plus more compressed weed. That’s a hell of a vacation. How long was he planning on staying down there again?
Look, I give a shit if athletes smoke weed. Let them burn it down until the cows come home. You literally had Martellus Bennett come out this week and say all NFL players do in the off-season is smoke weed and play video games. I don’t blame them if 16 weeks out of the year, you’re basically putting your life on the line.
Just maybe try an avoid smuggling the drugs through TSA during the off-season. That’s a quick way to Goodell’s shit-list.
