The Rivers family will be adding another member soon as Austin and his fiancee, Brittany Hotard, are expecting their first baby.
Credit on this scoop goes to longtime Los Angeles Clippers announcer Ralph Lawler, who has mentioned the pregnancy during his past few telecasts. Uproxx’s Bill DiFilippo revealed the gender of the baby in a profile on Austin that went up Wednesday:
Off the court, Rivers has managed to establish a low-key life, keeping a tight circle of friends, and last Thanksgiving he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Britt Hotard. The two have each known for a decade and Hotard is currently pregnant with the couple’s first child (a boy).
Rivers and Hotard plan to get married next January according to their wedding page on The Knot. They still haven’t picked anything for their registry so that post will have to wait until later.
As for Austin and Doc on the hardwood, they and the rest of the Clippers are currently on an ill-timed four-game losing streak. Playoff hopes, however, are not totally dead yet — they trail the eight seed by just 2.5 games with 12 games remaining.
