Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be more drama out of Cleveland, Ty Lue announced today that he’s done with the Cavs and it’s over health concerns. From the official statement:
“After many conversations with our doctors and Koby and much thought given to what is best for the team and my health, I need to step back from coaching for the time being and focus on trying to establish a stronger and healthier foundation from which to coach for the rest of the season.
I have had chest pains and other troubling symptoms, compounded by a loss of sleep, throughout the year. Despite a battery of tests, there have been no conclusions as to what the exact issue is.
There it is, LeBron either ran Ty Lue out of town or all the drama finally caused Ty’s ticker to falter. Whatever the case, this now sets up for Bron Bron to have an excuse over an exit from the Eastern Conference playoffs and the eventual decision to leave for the Western Conference. It’s coming. No way he’s in Cleveland a year from now unless Dan Gilbert sells to LeBron and he becomes the first owner, head coach and NBA MVP.
That might actually be the best way to go here in order to keep the guy.
