There are already a lot of NFL Draft betting props out there, but after taking a look at Part 8 of Robert Klemko’s Baker Mayfield series it appears we need another one: Which very thorough NFL team hired a private investigator to stalk the Oklahoma quarterback? For real. Mayfield apparently found out Tuesday he had a tail — details from Sports Illustrated:
Later on Tuesday, Mayfield received an alert from a trusted source that he had a tail in Norman. A private investigator, he was told, was tracking his movements on behalf of a team. The MMQB was unable to verify the identity of that team, but it should come as no surprise that any NFL franchise considering a (minimum) four-year commitment and tens of millions of dollars to a 22-year-old might like to know how he spends nights near his old stomping grounds.
Not a total surprise, right? NFL teams are super weird (just take a look at their combine questions) and the guy keeps getting compared to Johnny Manziel. No one wants to make a colossal mistake like that again.
Your hypothetical betting options here:
— Cleveland Browns
— Denver Broncos
— Miami Dolphins
— New York Giants
— New York Jets
— Arizona Cardinals
— Los Angeles Chargers
— Buffalo Bills
— New England Patriots
The last three listed are unlikely, but two of them (the Chargers and Pats) eventually need successors at the position.
