UGA QB Jake Fromm Placed 234th In The World's Largest Collegiate Fishing Tournament

Jake Fromm went to a National Championship as a true freshman this season and is one of the best young players in college football, so I think a long career in football is likely for him. However, Max Kellerman, if for some terrible reason Fromm isn’t playing football well into his thirties, well, he should maybe sell insurance or something because I’m not sure professional fishing is in his future.
I love Jake Fromm. I’m a Georgia grad, he’s amazing. He led one of my favorite football teams ever. But let’s not pretend that coming in 234th out of 273 boats at the YETI FLW College Fishing event on Lake Guntersville presented by Berkley, AKA the world’s largest collegiate fishing tournament, is anything special. That’s what happened last weekend. I’m just stating facts here.

Details from Fishing League Worldwide:

The University of Tennessee team of John Lambert of Blountville, Tennessee, and Logan Brewster of Maryville, Tennessee, won the largest collegiate fishing tournament of all-time – 273 boats – Saturday at the YETI FLW College Fishing event on Lake Guntersville presented by Berkley. The duo weighed a five-bass limit of 25 pounds, 9 ounces to best the massive field, which included Jake Fromm, starting quarterback for the NCAA College Football National Championship runner-up Georgia Bulldogs.
The victory earned the Volunteers bass club $2,400 and a spot in the 2019 FLW College Fishing National Championship. Eleven limits in excess of 20 pounds were brought to the scale.

The winners of this tournament were a couple of Tennessee students who are probably fishing prodigies that were likely on the cover of the hottest fishing magazine while they were still in high school. Probably dubbed the next Kevin VanDam.
I can’t blame Fromm for not even cracking the top 200. He had more important things to worry about the last six months when he could’ve been sharpening that casting stroke. Things like beating Tennessee in real sports.
