Outside of testing positive for a banned substance a couple weeks ago, it’s been a fantastic season for Arizona’s Allonzo Trier. The junior guard averaged 19-3-3 and shot 52 percent from the field, 40 percent from three, and 85 percent at the free-throw line. Trier made sure to point out he posted a 50-40-90 line against Pac 12 opponents in a tweet over his snubbing for the Jerry West Award:
Shot 50-40-90 in conference gettin 20pts and up a game the whole season but got took off the finalist list 🤷🏽♂️ been consistent all year and my body of work shows that but #OpinionsOverStatistics of course.

Can’t argue with the numbers especially when you see serial tripper Grayson Allen was one of the final candidates. Oh well, Trier has bigger things on his plate now: the NCAA Tournament, and the 2018 NBA Draft. Sean Miller announced last week the trio of Trier, DeAndre Ayton, and Rawle Alkins are going pro.
Off the court, Trier is dating fellow Wildcat, and former UA soccer player, Tori Gates. The two went IG official in February:
