So much for the good vibes surrounding Chris Berman guest managing the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. The ESPNer is now facing allegations of leaving a “threatening and racially disparaging voicemail” to colleague Jemele Hill back in 2016.
The revelation was made in former ESPN employee Adrienne Lawrence’s discrimination lawsuit against the company — details from TMZ:

One such incident involves Berman and Hill.
“In early 2016, ESPN’s ‘The Undefeated’ personality Jemele Hill received a threatening and racially disparaging voicemail from Berman on her ESPN phone line.”
Lawrence claims Hill notified ESPN executive Marcia Keegan — who oversaw Hill’s show, “His & Hers” — but ultimately “nothing was done.”
Lawrence claims Berman has been involved in multiple incidents involving mistreatment of women — but “remains a celebrated and welcome ESPN employee.”

Update: Jemele Hill denies on Twitter that Berman sent her a nasty voicemail.

Lawrence, a former anchor and legal analyst, filed her 85-page complaint Sunday. Her main target here is anchor John Buccigross, who she accused in December of sending shirtless photos and hashtags like #longlegs and #dreamgirl. Buccigross responded by saying it wasn’t his intent to offend Lawrence.
