Antonio Cromartie and his family are in a period of transition. The longtime cornerback, who had his best years with the Chargers and Jets, took to Instagram today to announce his retirement after 11 seasons in the NFL:
Today is the day knew would eventually have to face, but one I never wanted to accept. After 27 years of playing football, today I say farewell. God blessed me with the opportunity to play in the NFL for 11 years, and after much consideration and prayer, I’d like to officially announce my retirement.
And football isn’t the only thing Antonio is bidding farewell to as he and his wife, Terricka, have recently listed their New Jersey mansion for $1.7 million. Public records show the house was purchased in 2012 for $1.235 million, so the Cromarties could make a nice profit here. The extra cash shouldn’t hurt given Antonio has to support like 14 kids.
