There’s a lot of excitement at Angels camp surrounding the man they call the “Japanese Babe Ruth,” Shohei Ohtani. He throws over 100, possesses light tower power, yada yada yada — you’ve probably heard the scouting report 30 times now. But we’re not here to discuss the Shohei hype. Instead, we’re going to give some love to outfield prospect Jo Adell, who is spending his spring deforming baseballs:

Adell was selected 10th overall by the Angels in the 2017 MLB Draft. He dominated rookie ball in his minor league debut and is already a fixture on every top-100 prospect list…

You probably won’t be surprised to learn Keith Law threw an 80 grade on his raw power (via In$ider):

He didn’t play the field because of the arm issue, but if he’s recovered by spring, he should go out as a center fielder thanks to his plus speed and what was a plus throwing arm as well. Even if he has to move to left — an absolute worst-case scenario — his bat looks like it’s going to profile there with 80 raw power and huge exit velocities already in pro ball, as well as the aptitude to adjust to the challenges he’ll face when he sees better pitching in the Midwest League this year.

Oh, and it appears he also has some hops judging from this casual 63-inch box jump:
