Just went over this with @bustedcoverage, why is anyone from MIN guarding past mid-court? Besides defending the inbound itself, everyone should be at the front court line or 3PT line. Play the %s. Let CLE fire from mid-court

Look, I’m not an expert on the NBA and I’ve gone on record saying you guys know way more than I do about basketball, but I have to ask what the hell Thibs was thinking with this defense on the last shot against the Cavs. I need Thibs to tell me his philosophy on why he would have two defenders guarding Cavs players well over half-court when there’s only enough time for a catch and shoot.
There has to be some sort of explanation for this.
And why is Karl Anthony Towns that far off the inbound line. I get that he can’t reach over the line, but he can go straight up with his arms. Look at how much room the Cavs inbounder has to get that pass off. Plenty of launch angle to get it right over KAT, who doesn’t seem to show much interest in blocking the inbound pass.
KAT is 7-foot and yet the pass goes right over his head way too easy.
Why does it all matter? Because I’m beaten over the head by NBA Guy that I should be watching the NBA because these are the best athletes in the world and every game matters…you have to watch the soap opera on a nightly basis. Uh, no you don’t.
And this isn’t some garbage team playing last-second defense. The T-Wolves are 4th in the West and just 1 1/2 back of the Spurs for 3rd. This is supposed to be a well-oiled machine headed towards the playoffs.
I’ll just go back to caring about the NBA once May rolls around. Until then you guys can act like this is great basketball. Have at it.
Also — the TWolves defended this play really passively; Wiggins hugging Korver way too much in the corner; why defending both guys in back court? Towns not aggressive enough on the pass. Great shot by LBJ, but shouldn’t have happened: https://t.co/JvIop6zECA

I’m not an expert on the NBA like you are. Need a ruling. Is this a travel? pic.twitter.com/YIDmXyblhv
