Do you remember Mikaela Shiffrin, Team USA Olympic ski racer, from the Sochi Games where she took gold in slalom? Probably not unless you’re big into the world of skiing or you watch skiing on the weekends — CBS & ABC usually have odd skiing broadcasts — before something more important comes on.
Let me put it this way, NBC is going to present Shiffrin to you as a huge star you need to see perform when the women’s slalom takes place on Monday, February 12.
More from the Shiffrin bio:

She is the reigning Overall World Cup champion and the reigning Olympic and world champion in slalom and a four-time winner of the World Cup discipline title in that event. Shiffrin is the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history, at 18 years and 345 days.

Shiffrin has turned heads since making her World Cup debut at 15. At 17, she became the youngest U.S. woman to win an Alpine world championship. At 18, she became the youngest Olympic slalom gold medalist. Now 22, she is hoping to become the first skier of either gender to repeat as Olympic slalom champion.

• Shiffrin’s helmet has the acronym ABFTTB (Always Be Faster Than The Boys).
• One of her nicknames is “Sir Naps A Lot.”
• Both of her parents were competitive skiers. Her father, Jeff, raced for Dartmouth.
• And Bose is one of her sponsors
