It’s no secret around here that Roger Clemens loves karaoke. It’s been documented on here multiple times. The guy can’t stay off a mic. He’ll sing all the hits. He seems to know all the hits. Golf tournament after golf tournament, nobody crushes karaoke like Rocket. Now it appears he might have a new partner who has a love affair with karaoke mics — Johnny Damon.
Roger, Johnny, Bret Saberhagen and a bunch of other former athletes who like to play 18 were in Florida over the weekend for the Diamond Resorts Invitational, another one of Roger’s stops that will also include Tahoe where he’ll tear up a karaoke mic.
This weekend it sounds like the boys got Denny Hamlin lit and talked him into doing some mic work to Sisqo’s classic “Thong Song,” pretty much as perfect a song as Rocket can give to a NASCAR driver.
As for the golf, Clemens finished 28th, Damon finished in a tie for 50th out of 52, Saberhagen was 31st and Hamlin was 43rd. Mardy Fish finished with 75 points and the $100,000 first place prize. Michael Waltrip finished last with -42, but took home $2,225.
