Bills Mafia Reportedly Kept Police Very Busy on Sunday

I’m pretty immune to the antics of Bills fans after years of working this gig, but even I have to admit they were wilder than usual this past weekend. Just take a look at Intern Dan’s Week 10 tailgating highlights — there were broken tables for days, a fun array of wrestling moves (power bombs, RKOs), a naked streaker, fake babies smoking cigs, etc. It was really a quintessential Bills Mafia Sunday.

The Buffalo News’ Melinda Miller noted additional Bills Mafia stories today, which were headlined by a man who apparently caught fire after falling into a fire pit:

Perhaps hoping to join the ranks of several other flaming Buffalo Bills fans on YouTube, a man fell into a fire pit Sunday morning at the Twin Oaks Motel on Abbott Road in Orchard Park before the start of the football game.

Orchard Park Police reported that, when they responded to the incident at about 11:45 a.m., the man’s clothing was extinguished. The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to Erie County Medical Center. His name was not released.

If that sounds familiar it’s because we’ve already seen a Bills fan set himself on fire this season:

Maybe the best line from Miller’s story to sum up the day:

Police also reported that they had numerous calls for car crashes, fires, fights, criminal mischief, intoxicated persons and other criminal acts, along with medical calls, mostly associated with excessive alcohol consumption.
