Georgia Tech junior linebacker Tre’ Jackson followed the Astros shortstop’s lead on Saturday as he proposed to girlfriend Desi Nathe after his team’s upset victory over Virginia Tech. Jackson didn’t record any stats in the game, but that didn’t stop him from being the big winner:

A couple of weeks ago, Jackson asked coach Paul Johnson if he could propose on the field — assuming the Yellow Jackets pulled out the victory.
There was apparently a backup plan:
Jackson had a backup plan if the outcome didn’t go Georgia Tech’s way..
“I said, ‘Tre’, what are you going to do if we don’t win the game?'” Johnson recalled. “He goes, ‘Well, I’ll do it on the plaza (outside the stadium) afterward.”
