If you thought Al Michaels had a rough night with that Harvey Weinstein & NY Giants joke, you haven’t heard anything…and by anything, I mean you haven’t heard the 9-11 “kills” joke from Georgia Southern volleyball color analyst Tricia Fishbune.
As you can hear in the clip above, Fishbune is reading off stats and seems to get fascinated by a kills stat that she believes to have joke written all over it.
Cathrine Murray entered the Troy match last Thursday with 911 kills. Fishbune went all-in with her joke.
She has 911 kills. So she’s only 65 kills away from cracking the top 10 in school history and, um, just to note…911…you know, 9-11…so uh…kills…that was, you know 9-11…kills…little joke.
Now look, I’m not going to get outraged and demand that Fishbune gets fired for a 9-11 joke. All I’m asking is that Fishbune get better at delivering the joke. First time I listened to this video I knew where she was headed. She got trapped and then it was too late. She couldn’t dig out, so she just saw it through.
