The 2018 Louisville basketball season seems like it was going to be a whole lot of fun with two five-star recruits in Anfernee Simons and Courtney Ramey joining the program, but unfortunately that future is dunzo as both guards decommitted from the Cards today.
Simons, who is ranked No. 8 in ESPN’s top 100, took to Twitter to announce his de-commitment due to “recent events” (bribery scandal, shady-ass Pitino getting the axe, etc.):

No need to cry for Simons, he had like 11 scholarship offers from other schools.
As for Ramey, his dad told Scout.com they thought Louisville “was a perfect fit”, but they too are joining Simons in getting the hell out of that dumpster fire:
“We are going to reopen it,” the elder Ramey said. “We aren’t excited about it, but it’s something we have to do.”
“It’s a grinding process and I want my son to enjoy his senior season with out the pressure,” he added. “We were all set to go to Louisville and play for coach P and play in the ACC. We thought it was a perfect fit, but due to the circumstances we are going to open it.”
Like Simons, Ramey will draw plenty of interest in the open market (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Ohio State, Texas, and a few others were among the schools interested).
