Justin Verlander stayed hot on Sunday as he fired seven innings of one run ball (with 10 strikeouts) against the Mariners to help the Astros clinch their first ever AL West title. In case you haven’t been keeping tabs on JV since the trade, he’s now allowed just two runs and 10 hits in 21 innings of work… yeah, that deadline deal is working out just fine for the ‘Stros.
