On Wednesday, ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Rizzo dropped a story on “The Really Big Show” that every Cavs fan can get behind: LeBron James did not beat the hell out of Kyrie Irving during a reported meeting in Miami (via King James Gospel):
“From very reliable sources. Plural. Kyrie and LeBron were in the same room over the weekend in Florida…Apparently these guys were in the same room and here’s the deal. I don’t know if there’s a thawing out process. All I do know is LeBron didn’t punch Kyrie the way Stephen A thought he would. I can report that. As for what they talked about or discussed…it was very cool. They didn’t get into any heated discussions.”
Sounds good, right? Maybe Kyrie and LeBron can go back to being buddies, not bail on their team at the same time and live happily ever after in The Land.
The bad news: Screamin’ A Smith came out hot today on “First Take” to let everyone know Kyrie and LeBron did not meet — they were just in the same city at the same time. He also took a little shot at Rizzo’s reporting skills, because, of course:
Sorry, Cavs fans. This drama looks like it will be painfully drawn out until Woj breaks Eric Bledsoe and Alex Len are headed to town.
