We had some major drama dropped in our lap from the baseball world last night while everyone was preoccupied with the Finals. While the internet was spewing hot takes about LeBron letting KD splash that three in his face, Cubs SS Addison Russell’s wife Melisa was dropping not-so-subtle IG shots at her husband for cheating.
Actually, it’s more than ‘not-so-subtle’. She flat out says “being cheated on”. Usually these sub-tweets or sub-IG’s dance around the subject a little bit via some inspirational quote or something. Nope, not here, Melisa just straight up announces that she was cheated on.
She wrote in a now deleted IG post:
Being free to be able to make your own choices for your own happiness beats being cheated on, lied to, & disrespected any day. #herestonewbeginnings #onlygetsbetterfromhere
Keep in mind this is during the Marlins-Cubs game. So while Addison is trotting out there to short or stepping into the box, little did he know his wife was basically declaring their divorce on the internet. What a weird world we live in.
She clarified her post on Twitter and actually took it further
