Guy Who Dropped ‘War Eagle’ At Jeff Sessions Hearing Went To Alabama…So Did Sessions

||

If you were watching the Jeff Sessions confirmation hearing today on Fox like WarBlogle, you would’ve heard a Repbulican Capitol lawyer guy by the name of William Smith drop “War Eagle” during his time on the mic. There’s some confusion to all of this since Smith has a Bama law degree…and so does Sessions.

Did Smith lose a bet? Sessions actually an Auburn fan with a Bama degree, according to WarBlogle.

Here’s an interesting nugget on Sessions:

THRUSH: So I’m looking here and I see on your couch–we’re in your office in the Russell Senate Office Building, and I see on one side of the couch you’ve got an Auburn helmet and on the other side of the couch you’ve got a University of Alabama helmet. Are you going to tell me which one that you really, really, really root for in the Iron Bowl?

SEN. SESSIONS: If they’re in the national championship game, I’m for that one. But I went to law school at Alabama and I grew up a loyal Auburn fan. I’m one of the few that wrestles with those issues sometimes, but we’re really proud of them. Like the University of Alabama has almost doubled its enrollment. Its academic scores are up. It’s 37,000 students. Auburn has a very high academic record, maybe even higher test scores. So well over 25,000 or 28,000 students. So they’re doing very well and it’s a big asset to the state.

Brilliant political move right here — sit on the fence, claim titles, keep both sides happy. Maybe this Sessions bro isn’t so bad after all.

But this brings me back to this Smith character. He has a Bama undergrad degree and that law school degree. I’m not sure Bama fans are going to be cool with him dropping a “War Eagle” even if it is for a guy from the state who wants to be attorney general.

It goes even deeper with Smith:
