Here I thought Austin Rivers finally got the haters off his back after his valiant one-eyed Game 6 performance against the Blazers during last season’s playoffs. I mean, even Clippers fans secretly like Austin at this point. He’s not that bad!
But it looks like casual fans have yet to realize that Austin, 24, has rewarded Doc’s faith by turning himself into a decent role player off the bench. Just listen to this bratty Pelicans kid sitting courtside try to talk shit to Austin at Wednesday night’s game — he really nailed the delivery:
