Robel Kiros Habte of Ethiopia should be a hero who is recognized around the world as The Fat Olympic Swimmer Who Got A Free Trip To Brazil To Swim Down & Back In A Pool. Robel raced today in the 100M freestyle and finished 59th with a time of 1:04.95. The race winner swam a 47.9.
I’m not sure how many guys raced in the 100m free, but it couldn’t have been many more than 59. And now the guy has been to more Olympics than you. Races on a Tuesday — eats whatever the hell he wants in the Olympic Village because it doesn’t matter — does whatever he wants for the rest of his time in Rio.
Not a bad way to spend the summer.
