'16 Rio Olympics: Hottest Female Basketball Players


The WNBA has been around since 1996. It started off struggling to financially support itself until the NBA started shelling out about $10 million per year during the mid-2000’s just to keep the league from folding.
But that was then, this is today.
The league has become a huge success and as of a few years ago, the league has seen six of its’ 12 teams rocking a positive cash flow. They have even earned television contracts with ESPN and sponsorship deals with Verizon.
What does the success of the WNBA mean for women’s basketball around the world? It means that the sport isn’t going anywhere in America and it is finding itself more popular now than ever before.
The rest of the world seems to have solved the mystery for turning the sport into a cash making beast and it has slowly come to America, it just may take a little time.
