High School Soccer Goalie Delivers A Vicious Hit To An Opposing Player

This goalie on a North Carolina high school soccer team channeled her inner Ray Lewis during a game on Thursday night and leveled an opposing player for seemingly no reason other than her team was losing. If this was a college football game, the refs would simultaneously ejaculate at the thought of how fast they get to eject her for targeting.

Seriously, somebody get this chick a helmet and shoulder pads STAT. According to the Fayetteville Observer, she was suspended for 2 games afterwards.

Pine Forest High School goalkeeper Cassie Sturtz will be suspended for two games following a flagrant contact foul in the Trojans’ 4-1 girls’ soccer loss at Pinecrest on Thursday.
Ernie Fisher, regional supervisor for soccer officials in the Cape Fear region, said that the officials calling the game originally did not assess Sturtz a penalty. However, Fisher said the officials conferred shortly after the game ended and agreed Sturtz should have been called for a flagrant contact foul.
By N.C. High School Athletic Association rule, any soccer player who is assessed such a penalty has to miss the next two games.

I’d say she got away nicely with only a 2 game suspension.
