Panthers TE Greg Olsen Selling North Carolina House – $1,699,950

Greg-Olsen-House-1

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen told the Charlotte Observer in 2012 about his then-new house: “We found the house and thought it was great. But we wanted a custom house without building from scratch.” Now Greg and his wife are selling that 6,500 sq. ft. monster custom house for $1,699,950, according to a real estate listing. We’re talking about a six bedroom, eight bathroom masterpiece in Waxhaw, a southern suburb of Charlotte.

What’s up with this news? Not sure. He’s under contract through 2018 for $22.5 million, including $12 million to sign the papers. Maybe Greg and the family are moving up to something bigger. Or it’s a real estate play. Like a Flip or Flop episode. The Olsens paid $1,150,000 back in 2012, but the place was completely renovated in 2013.

According to his realtor:

Longview, home to a major share of Charlotte’s elite & high-profile residents. This high-security, full-service golf & country club features all that the discerning heart desires. 8405 Glendevon Ct, having recently been extensively renovated by Kingswood Homes, is most eminently suited for a superstar family. An efficient use of space, versatile open plan and perfect mix of Old World charm with sophisticated and contemporary design make this a true jaw-dropper offering a most enviable lifestyle.

Looks good to me.

Other highlights of Greg Olsen’s dream home:

• Half-acre…not much for a new owner to mow

• 3-car side load garage (I’ve seen people care about that on House Hunters)

• 12 miles from Whole Foods

• 18.5 miles from the Gold Club

Mortgage: You’re looking at $6,100 a month before the add-ons that usually kill you
