If you thought the 2016 NFL Free Agent class for quarterbacks was bad, we sure hope you aren’t a fan of a team in need of a wide receiver. There’s one big name out there in Bears wide out Alshon Jeffery, who tallied 807 yards and four touchdowns in a down 2015 campaign.
However, ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson believes the odds are good the Bears retain his rights either with a big deal or franchise tag.
So what alternative options do teams have? A bunch of No. 2 and No. 3 types like: Marvin Jones, Travis Benjamin, Percy Harvin, Reuben Randle, etc. Basically, a bunch of guys you won’t be blowing jersey money on (we hope).
The 2016 NFL free agency period starts at 4 p.m. on March 9.
