Bart Scott Hid in Bathroom to Avoid Signing With Browns

Back in 2005, linebacker Bart Scott signed a three-year extension with the Baltimore Ravens for around $13 million. But before that came to fruition, Scott was doing his due diligence in free agency to see what possibilities were out there for him.

One of the teams he visited? The Cleveland Browns.

Yes. The sad Brownies and then-head coach Romeo Crennel were hot for Scott, but he revealed on “The Simms and Lefcoe Podcast” that he didn’t want to sign there so badly that he hid in the goddamn bathroom:

Well thank goodness for Ozzie Newsome. I mean, who knows what would have happened to Scott’s career had he end up in the Dawg Pound.

Sidenote: The Browns apparently wanted Scott again in 2014, but he again saved his life and took an analyst job.
