Here we go. First it was the Missouri football team, now ‘Concerned Student’ organizers on the Ohio State campus are trying to drag the Buckeyes football team into supporting “solidarity with University of Missouri” students and align themselves with those “protesting against the racial injustices, central to their black identity, that have affected them in their campus environments.”
A protest is scheduled for 4 p.m. today on the Ohio State campus.
Here’s a grad student from the OSU English department trying to drum up support by tweeting the request that’s being sent to football players.
The strategy here is pretty clear: Use the football team’s power to get national attention. At least they’re honest with the strategy. This is from one of the organizers for today’s rally.
