Captain Morgan launched its new shot – a mix of spicy and citrus that they call the Cannon Blast – at the Cannon Blast Crawl Saturday in downtown Orlando. Busted Coverage was invited along for the festivities that included the “Human Fuse” Brian Miser being shot out of a cannon – twice. Miser, recognized as a legend in the human cannonball world, was successful on both jumps that happened as revelers enjoyed $4 shots of Cannon Blast, the perfect weather and a guy being launched over their heads by massive 25-foot cannons that were lit by Brian’s wife, Tina.
The bar crawl started at Hen House where social influencers enjoyed Cannon Blast in one of the smallest bars I’ve ever been in. The place might hold 20 with seating for about 10, if that. But the place was super cool, had a fun vibe and made for the perfect spot to watch a human cannonball get ready for his first launch. That’s where I had my first taste of the new Cannon Blast, a shot that’s going to change the game for those people who want a social shot that women will enjoy right along with the guys. Serve it chilled to enjoy the initial citrus flavor and then you get a slight hit of spice as you finish off the shot.
The party eventually moved to the Monkey Bar, which had a balcony perfect for watching the final launch of the night. In just 30 minutes, Brian Miser had been pummeled twice by the force of an entire football team — as he’d describe it to me after his night was completed. Despite the punishment his body took, this guy is a professional and he gave the Cannon Blast crowd the show they were promised.
