So you think that blown batted ball call in Seattle was bad? It wasn’t as bad as this goal call Monday night in a Belmont, North Carolina high school soccer game where a ref gave a goal that…well, you can watch the GIF. It wasn’t even close.
That’s a South Point forward shooting and missing on the Stuart Cramer keeper. Refs have seen this scenario thousands of times. Probably more. No biggie. Get the ball. Get the game rolling again.
Not this time. The ref gave South Point a goal to make it 2-1 Stuart Cramer. Not joking.
You can see a Stuart Cramer player protesting and somehow not losing his mind. The ref talks with the linesman, he’s not overruled and….it’s 2-1. Stuart Cramer (7-9) would eventually beat South Point (3-9-1) 3-2 so the ref is sorta off the hook.
Shame on the South Point coach for not coming out and not claiming the goal. Someone is always recording and the video’s now going to end up on BC, Bleacher Report, ESPN, CBS Sports will get involved and so will a bunch of other sites. It’s not a good look.

Any explanation for this ref’s actions?
@bustedcoverage he had just thrown out 2 Stuart Cramer fans 1 minute before this so I believe it was a stab at Stuart Cramer… Horrible ref

@bustedcoverage on top of that had already handed out 3 red cards (2 to SC 1 to SP) think he may have been a little control happy
