Let’s go to Alabama for some high school football and one of the worst high school punt coverage teams you’ll ever see on the Internet. That’s punt returner Desmon Richards, who runs a 4.49 40, according to his Hudl account. Not that it matters, just thought I’d get that out of the way. This 68-yard punt return happened this past Friday against Coosa Valley in a game that Richards dominated and was eventually ejected, according to the local paper.
First, the punt return in the 21-8 victory.

As for the ejection, things happen. It’s football. At least he didn’t attack a ref. Richards was “thrown out of the game early in the fourth quarter after tossing a ball at a Coosa Valley defender following yet another long run,” according to the Dothan Eagle. There were allegations that Coosa was scratching him.
Richards has 599 yards on 43 carries (13.9 avg) through three games.
