Vince Wilfork on the Cover of Houstonia Magazine’s Barbecue Issue

||

Vince Wilfork has yet to play a game for the Houston Texans, but already his presence has been felt… in the barbecue game. Seriously. Vince has only been with the Texans for like four months, and the big man has immersed himself in the barbecue community so well that he landed the cover of Houstonia Magazine’s Barbecue issue.

Of course, this really isn’t that surprising when you consider he purchased this Texans-themed barbecue trailer back in April:

In his interview with the magazine, Vince revealed it “didn’t hurt” that Houston barbecue trumped Boston’s when making the decision to sign with the Texans:

“There’s a rumor you left the Patriots and signed with the Texans because the barbecue in Houston is so much better than the barbecue in Boston,” we said, prompting Wilfork to set down his fork and smile. “Let’s just say it didn’t hurt.”

“There aren’t any barbecue joints in New England. I had to cook for myself,” said the Florida native, explaining that he loves to make ribs, pork chops and chicken.

Love it. Vince is a two-time Super Bowl champion, and he has the luxury of making life decisions based on things he loves. Why take less in New England when you can take your barbecue skills next level in Texas?
