It’s been a solid summer of Florida Man stories here on BC. We’ve seen everything from: organic food disputes, masturbation at a McDonald’s drive thru, exploding dryers and even some upskirting. But while these stories are fun (or downright creepy), it’s time to shift our focus on the future and give you some Florida teen stories.
We’ll take you to Tamarac, where a teen stole an iPad from a four-year-old boy as he waited for his mom at a salon.
The details from the ABC News:
The boy, whose name ABC News is withholding, was sitting inside the salon in Tamarac, in the Fort Lauderdale area, waiting for his mother, who works there, on July 24 just before 7 p.m. when the alleged thief struck.
A teenager had been pacing back and forth outside the salon, police said.
After that, he opened the front door and asked if his mother was there.
When the employee turned her back, the teen swiped the iPad from the child’s hands and took off, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
According to witnesses, the suspect is 5-foot-6 with a thin build. His hair was shaved with twists on the top, police said.
In addition, the Palm Beach Post notes the child was just minding his business and watching some cartoons when the teen committed the theft. Now, part of me thinks this could’ve been a calculated move by the teen. He was pacing outside doing some recon work, and once he sees the kid distracted by cartoons, he makes his move. Or, you know, he eventually just decided he was going to do it and easily did so because his target was a goddamn toddler.
Either way, it’s safe to say the future of “Florida Man” is in safe hands.
